Kanye West is one of my favorite artists. In part, it is due to his ability to speak his mind and try things he feels is right, defining his own style in the process, but his melodramatic personality, and his deftness at bringing attention to himself is also awesome.
He's always been able to get in the news, but his latest (you may have seen) revolves around his reaction to a scene from South Park that makes fun of him and exaggerates his reputation having a massive ego. I'm writing about this because I particularly liked the way he handled his response. I hope that his hints of humility stay with him. His blogsite is pretty cool. If you ever get a chance to, you should definitely check it out.
That's the interesting thing I find about blogs. As a tool that puts you in touch with your fans / friends / admirers / bored wanderers, it can be a good lesson in humility as well. If all you are doing is talking ish, then that's all you're really doing: Talking. What you aren't doing is "communicating", which is what is important in any dialogue. With the right communication, you can grow your fanbase, increase your friends, add to admirers and attract more bored wanderers.
Kanye's website is pretty cool too. Way to go Mr. West.
